Give your unwanted clothing and textiles a second chance.

bulbbankAn estimated £140 million worth of clothing ends up in UK bins each year. Sadly, lots of it is suitable for reuse and even clothes past their best can be recycled.

The easiest way to recycle and reuse your clothing and textiles is to take it to one of our  Local Recycling Points. There are now more than 80 locations across the borough and you can find your nearest using our interactive map.

We’ve teamed up with a number of charities and companies who benefit from your textile donations.

Traid (Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development), redistributes reusable items to its shops, such as the one on Acre Lane, Brixton for resale to the local community. They also run workshops with local schools and support overseas development projects.

Chris Carey Textiles hand sort their collections in South London and Kent and remanufacture, reuse or resell them both in the UK and world-wide.

Scope resells the textiles in their stores raising funds for their work with disabled people and their families.

It’s not just clothing and textiles that can be recycled at our On-street Recycling Points. We also have banks for:

  • Books
  • CDs
  • DVDs
  • Small electrical items such as kettles, toasters and hairdryers
  • Batteries
  • Light bulbs

You can see which banks are at which locations by clicking through to the individual site pages on the map.
